Child Welfare / Child Protection Services  Kandiyohi County's child protection system responds to situations where children are alleged to be maltreated and helps support families to safely care for their children.  Providing resources to families for basic needs, such as housing or child care, significantly improve the safety of children in their homes and communities.

Children's Mental Health Services  We are committed to making sure the right services are available at the right time for children with mental health needs and their families.

Family Child Care Licensing  Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services is responsible for the licensing and monitoring of family childcare homes located within the county. This includes conducting an initial licensing study, recommendation for licensure, providing ongoing monitoring of compliance with licensing standards, provision of technical assistance to license providers, responding to parent questions and investigating complaints of licensed family childcare providers. 

Child Foster Care Licensing   County foster care can provide a safe environment for children while professionals work with the family to address the concerns that lead to the need for foster care.
